The event is sanctioned by cycling’s worldwide governing body, Union Cyclist International (UCI), the national governing body, British Cycling and the regional governing body, East Midlands Cyclo-cross Association (EMCCA)
John is responsible for ensuring, as far as is reasonably possible, that all activities which take place at this event are conducted in such a way as to assure, so far as is reasonably practicable, the safety of all those involved with or attending the event. This will be his 12th National trophy promotion and has promoted 2 National Championships at Moorways prior to these he gut his teeth on N&D events and the Midland Championships. The intent has always been to provide the opportunities to race the best in the UK and have the chance to race the up and coming foreign riders.

Course Director
Tim is responsible for all aspects of the delivery of a safe and successful event with matters concerning the circuit layout. He’s been involved in cycling for over 35years racing in various categories and disciplines during that period, he’s been involved with cyclocross for 10 years or so and is an active member of the local league as well as an organiser for local CX events.
Tim’s been involved with the National Trophy at Derby for quite a few years now and has been the course director for 6 additions, he absolutely loves the challenge each year to tweak and keep the course interesting for the riders.
Simon Whitham
Logistics Manager
Simon is responsible for the co-ordination of the Event Village, finance, website and social media. 2022 will be his 8th year involved with the event taking on greater tasks as the years have progressed. It’s great to be able to give back to a sport that has given me such enjoyment over 40 odd years.
